@moonman@tuxcrafting This is something new. When I was in school in a Los Angeles suburb, there were students with guns on campus, but no one ever got shot at school.
@thegibson@PhoneBoy I hope this does make remote available to a much larger slice of the workforce. In a lot of places, managers and supervisors fear that out of sight = not working ... it'd be great to get past that.
cdc has stated that covid-19 is now endemic in the state of washington. that means it's spreading through the community, no longer just from cases coming here from abroad.
if you're in the area, make sure you are washing your hands frequently, staying out of places where there are lots of people if you can, working from home if you can, and if you have symptoms of a fever and coughing - call the hotline, get tested, and stay home!
if you *do* have symptoms and your doctor says you don't qualify, make sure they know the cdc updated their guidance and is no longer restricting tests!
βNBC News Exit Poll: Biden wins Democratic primary in Massachusetts, Warren's home turf
Joe Biden beat Elizabeth Warren on her home turf of Massachusetts in Tuesday's Democratic primary. Biden captured the lion's share of support from late-deciding voters. Roughly 4 in 10 voters who made up their minds in the last few days broke for Biden, according to NBC News Exit Poll results.
Biden does well with voters in the state who are looking for a candidate who can unite the country, and he wins nearly half of moderate or conservative voters there, as well as those ages 65 and older.
Biden also won strong support from voters who consider health care the top issue. But in contrast to Bernie Sanders' voters, a majority of those who voted for Biden in the Massachusetts primary oppose a single-payer plan.β
Apparently, #Sanders is not bringing in new voters and seems to be pushing existing voters away. (I havenβt yet seen results from #TX or #CA, so their analysis may be too early.)
@moonman I won't try to make your decision for you, but the fact that it can take weeks for symptoms to show and it is contagious during that time period means that you may wind up infected at a client meeting right there in Arizona. Don't take unreasonable risks, but also don't cower in your apartment, afraid to even go outdoors to buy supplies, at least not before you have to. It's up to you to decide what's reasonable.
Why are #conspiracy_theories so often clearly wrong (Lizard people control the planet? Really?) when they could be about something verifiable, like the #asparagubbiansβ plan to fill our plates with awful tasting #asparagus?
