Well, gnusocial.no is closing down on September 1st, so people will eventually "unfollow" me here anyway. :) But I also just figured people would get sick and tired of seeing this notice posted every few days if they didn't unsubscribe, so I was just trying to help them along. If you want to follow until the end, feel free!

Oh, hey, this finally reached the outside world! gnusocial.no is slowly starting to get back on its feet, it seems. I feel kind of guilty for running away, but really, almost nobody else uses the instance, so when federation breaks I am totally isolated here.
When Pleroma is a little less beta-y I think there's a good chance I will either set up my own instance, or join another one that's not too shitposty if any turn up. I honestly do feel kind of dirty using Mastodon.

I have reluctantly joined the dark side and am migrating this account to SDF's Mastodon instance. In the unlikely event that this message reaches your instance and you're not too disappointed in me, please follow me at https://mastodon.sdf.org/@solderpunk.
Hey there, not sure if you're aware of the situation, or if you're still on vacation, but I think gnusocial.no has again stopped federating with almost any other instances. Most of the notices on the first page of "Network" or at least 2 days old.
Oh, that's neat! Thanks for sharing. I will now try (and almost certainly fail) to remember to put a space before dangerous commands. Especially since I regularly grep through the output of history and then use e.g. !1234 to repeat an old command. I occasionally mistype the command number and always live in fear that I'll accidentally trigger some awful command.
I set up #Thunderbird for the first time in many years recently, and was a little disheartened at how difficult and clunky I found it to just explicitly tell the damn thing my server settings, instead of trying to use its auto-magic setting detector.
Tfw getting a non-prepaid mobile phone in Finland is literally way more difficult than doing something that actually matters, like opening a bank account or renting a house.
