If you haven't been to a US Walmart, most locations put display racks in the middle of the walkways, so that people have to slow down. I'm guessing that people do more impulse buying this way.
The aisle-blockers are another reason I shop elsewhere whenever I can.
I still go to "Super Target" instead of #Walmart or the nearest supermarket. Or I go to the cross-town supermarket and stop by the Target in that area.
But I'm not happy with them. If someone opened a clean and well-stocked store within walking distance with the quality products I want, I would switch in a heartbeat.
We talked a lot about #Microsoft's purchase of Activision-Blizzard and other game studios and about price comparisons between #Walmart, #Target, and #Amazon.
If an item is available at all three places, I generally prefer to buy it in person at Target, even if it costs more than either Walmart or Amazon.
Just as an example, #Target used to be known for its wide, clutter-free aisles. #Walmart, on the other hand, is known for causing storewide traffic congestion by filling most of the aisle with displays and shelves, preventing customers from getting past slower-moving customers.
I haven't seen anything else for iOS that supports GS, but it might be worth going to the big blue discount store (aka #Walmart ) and buying their $80 #Android device, so you can use #AndStatus instead. AndStatus is not known for being fast, but it can run circles around Shoyu, even running backwards, with its eyes closed and its ankles bound.
Was in #Target, #Walmart, and another store today. Still no TP.
So I remember POM class (production and operations management) being very thrilled about JIT / Kanban type systems, where product was not stored in a warehouse, but delivered just before it was needed. The problem with that (known even back when I was in college and university) is that any hiccups or unforeseen changes leave your supply chain struggling to catch up.
I thought about this late last year, when Walmart put up signs restricting purchases of dishwashing detergent because there was a nationwide shortage. I found myself wondering how it was possible to run short of such a substance for months at a time. My conclusion at the time was that "lean manufacturing" and JIT inventories were to blame.
The world is not the stable, predictable place we like to imagine. It would be wise of business managers to build some slack into their processes to help even things out.

I know that's likely to be be really inaccurate, like imagining a zillion Wendy's quickserve restaurants in Dublin, #OH, because that's where their HQ is, or at least it used to be there. (I've actually been to Dublin, Ohio, so I know that is not true.)
