I intended to revive my #vaporware #Fediverse project and do some server preparation, but I didn't even cd into ~/projects this weekend. Maybe next weekend, unless Mark from $EMPLOYER and his wife are able to visit #NYC.

@musicman I know I don’t use #IRC to its full potential. Maybe once I actually get my #vaporware socnet project going, I’ll have a reason to learn it better. Use a CLI client and a bouncer, use slash commands, spin up an eggdrop. Learn to kick and ban troublesome users.

For now, Quassel and a #Matrix bridge are good enough.

Before I slam #Node.JS entirely, I should admit that I’m considering making one implementation of my #vaporware #socnet project with Node. (There were _two_ such project in mind, but it looks like the source for the other vaporware project [in Python / Django] may have been deleted when #BitBucket dropped #Hg repositories. I was just going to take over where the original person left off, but if I’d need to rewrite it from scratch, it is no longer the same project and I may as well just implement it as part of the other project)

@mangeurdenuage Yeah, #Pleroma is #JavaScrippled and bloated with gobs of unnecessary #JabbaShit ( #JavaScript ). They really need to slim down their use of JS and make the basic page load without it.

#Mastodon also depends on JS to load much of its content.

In my opinion, most of this could be done better and faster without the JS (although JS is needed for downloading new posts without a full page reload).

Hoping I have time and resources to actually write my #vaporware projects (federated socnet servers) soon.
