(2) make sure you have a couple of days worth of bottled water, in case your local water processing / filtration plant is overwhelmed by the floodwaters.

I am looking up information about the New Madrid Seismic Zone ( #NMSZ ) / New Madrid Fault Line ( #NMFL ) and the possibly related Wabash Valley Seismic Zone ( #WVSZ ). I remember reading that it was a failed continent-splitting rift and thinking that it went southward into Louisiana and Mississippi, but apparently, it doesn’t.

@mike @corbin I had that happen with an order from Best Buy. Turned out it was one of their "associate sellers" (not clearly marked, so I thought I was ordering from #BBY itself), and they shipped half my order to Tennessee via #USPS. They continued to maintain that the delivery receipt for Nashville #TN was proof I received my item in SoCal, so I just quit ordering online from Best Buy. (That was also the first of a series of bad experiences with USPS shipping.)

Latest is that $EMPLOYER expects the #Missouri operation to wrap in December, but with a steep staff cut at the end of this month. #Tennessee just wrapped. #Georgia pulled K from #TN. #Nevada tried to pull some people from #MO, but was denied. And they're still only offering starting pay of $12-16/hour (with almost zero chance of raises in the next few years) and wondering why we can't staff our agency sufficiently.
