> In other words, Tesla’s FSD system is likely on the order of ten times more dangerous at driving than humans.
> Now, this is just a preliminary study, so the exact figures will be somewhat different. But even if just half of the deaths NHTSA found were thanks to FSD, that still would make it dramatically more deadly than humans. Indeed, the true figure could be higher, since there is no way to know if Tesla is reporting every crash accurately.
> The Tesla and SpaceX chief financed his $44 billion deal to take Twitter private in October by securing the huge debt from a syndicate of banks led by Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, Barclays, and Mitsubishi. The $13 billion debt is held by Twitter at a corporate level, with no personal guarantee by Musk.
The article isn't clear about the installment terms. $1.5B/year could be in annual, semiannual, quarterly, or monthly payments.
I cannot imagine how various big banks allowed themselves to be suckered into that deal. From the outside, everything about it seemed unsound from the beginning. And as a lender, I certainly would not have allowed the loan to be collateralized by Twitter itself. It would either have been pledge your ${NASDAQ_[TSLA]} #Tesla shares and #SpaceX shares, or some other way of lending it directly to Elon Musk himself.
Maybe bank regulators need to investigate how these banks got into a clearly unsound situation ... and maybe push these banks' top management executives entirely out of the industry.
Also, I saw (but cannot find currently) where a current ${NASDAQ[TSLA]} shareholder said something to the effect of "Elon Musk is running FIVE COMPANIES and is too distracted to do his job well at any of them".
> “This is really Musk reading the room that with a weak case going into Delaware, the chances that he's going to have to acquire Twitter are increasingly getting higher,” Dan Ives, a managing director at Wedbush Securities, attested to The Daily Beast.
This is another sign that Elon Musk is not suited to run any publicly traded companies. Investors could try to sue over his implied promise not to sell more stock if the price tumbled as a result of this sale.
This is a good start. "Tech company" is much meaningless. #Tesla is a "tech company", does that mean it doesn't need to comply with regulations covering the manufacture and sale of automobiles? Of course not. Big Tech companies need to be regulated according to what markets they compete in, not what widgets they use to do so.
@Aerdan hey I just did an image search and I see what you mean. That thing looks like it came right out of #Automan! I'm starting to suspect #ElonMusk watched the same cheesy #SciFi#TV shows I did as a kid. I wonder if there will be a #Tesla Cyberbike that looks like the #Streethawk bike? Although I guess the #Tron#lightcycle is the obvious design inspiration for that ;)
@garbados#Purism hardware definitely isn't priced for the average user. The hosted services are pretty affordable though, given that you can pay a similar monthly price just for a VPN service. I'm hoping that Purism are doing a #Tesla, selling the sports car first, to bring in the capital for scaling up production to bring down the price of later models. @mngrif
#Eigene-Meinung
