    1. SUSE to be acquired, taken private
SUSE's long story of corporate ownership is gaining a new chapter; the company has announced that it's majority shareholder (Marcel LUX III SARL) will acquiring the remaining shares, and will take the company private and off of the stock exchange. "SUSE’s Management Board and Supervisory Board support the strategic opportunity from delisting of the company as it will allow SUSE to focus fully on its operational priorities and execution of its long-term strategy."

In late 2002 I got a desktop computer with #WinXP, an Intel Celeron processor and 128M of RAM. It was a little slow from day one. It got worse with each update, so when it got to where I'd turn it on and wait almost an hour before it was ready to use, I installed #SuSE (briefly) and then #Gentoo. Eventually, I added RAM and got it to 1G but by that time, for the same price, I could have bought something much faster.

Toward the end of its life, I used it only as a print server. It went into electronics recycling around 2014.

@kai That could be it. I came from #Win95 to #SuSE, then #Red_Hat (this was before the #RHEL / #Fedora split), #Caldera OpenLinux, Fedora, #WinXP, #LinuxMint and others. Over the years, whenever I use a #GNOME based system, I'm soon dissatisfied, but #KDE mostly looks and works the way I expect.

#Stop-Playing-Bullshit #Fuck-Off-OpenSuSE #Fuck-Off-Ubuntu
