My first impression is "well it is #Alabama", but I've actually worked in that state a couple of times without experiencing anything negative. I felt like I could go almost anywhere without much issue.
I have to add that the last time I worked there, I was near an old closed-down Army base with an adjacent wooded area. I did not feel like it would be safe to wander in the woods ... but I don't think that was about race.

I've seen this story elsewhere, but it bears repeating. Giving so much information & power to one entity is always dangerous, whether that entity is Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Apple, some other company, or the government.
As I suspected, #police used a fake account to get DNA matches from a genealogy website in their hunt for the #GoldenGateKiller. At least one of the matches, for which they got a subpoena and forced the person to give a more comprehensive sample, was a false positive.
Due to the Third Party Doctrine, they don't need a warrant to get such information most of the time. So keep in mind that when you use those sites, you might as well be handing your DNA straight to police.
@rtsn it's taken from a manual used to train undercover police. There is a public investigation into #UK #Police surveillance of political organisations currently ongoing. The quotes I posted are the funny ones. The full document shows a dehumanising perspective and horrifying reach of surveillance into civil life.
'Spanish #police have now filed criminal complaints against the Mayor of Barcelona #AdaColau, the president of the parliament, the head of the Catalan police, the president of Catalonia #Puigdemont, and the VP junqueras''
The #police who have smashed down polling stations and people who just wanted to vote, get celebrated by #fascists in #barcelona, during a protest where many(most) ppl from other regions then #catalonia took part.
'The chief of #Catalonia’s #police force has been accused of sedition for allegedly refusing to carry out judicial orders in the build-up to last Sunday’s controversial referendum on independence for the region.'
'Major Josep Lluis Trapero could face a #prison sentence of up to 15 years if the investigating judge in #Madrid decides to formalise the charge' https://frama.link/Nf1425n3
