@musicman Is your #Firefox up-to-date? Some really JavaScripty sites won't render at all in #Palemoon, but I think that's because their JS engine forked from Gecko's some years ago and has been diverging over time. -

Time to switch back to #Palemoon. I've been using #Falkon as my main browser for a few days.
Plus: Unlike Palemoon, when Falkon decides to have an issue, one or more tabs fail to load, but the browser itself doesn't crash.
Minus: It really needs something like NoScript, where all #JavaScript is off, except for specific sites you authorize; it cannot load PleromaFE and cannot log in with Soapbox. I should have tried Bloat, but I didn't. Although I don't knowingly have any Snaps installed, snapd randomly spins all CPU cores at 100% for a few minutes ... this was never observed with Palemoon. -

#Palemoon’s fork of TreeStyleTab was a little slow to update for the changes in v.29.x, so it broke. The new version is now available. -

Had to restart #Palemoon because it was getting slow. Too much #JavaScript / #JabbaShit bloating up its memory and CPU consumption. I'd really like it if most sites went on a JS diet and cut out most of the unwanted and unnecessary scripts. -

I've long had my desired and most-used browsers ( #Firefox and #Palemoon ) pinned. I don't need to pin a browser that I only use as a local PDF reader. -

@adcock No, they just are not doing support via #IRC anymore. If you need support, use their forums. Continue to use #Palemoon if you like. -

The #Freenode #IRC room for #Palemoon browser has been retired. -

@ivesen It also happens in #Palemoon (which is derived from #Firefox, but presumably has different code since the fork). Pleroma FE performance got drastically worse a few months ago, so wherever the bug came from, it only started triggering relatively recently. -

Surprising how hot you feel after a few trips up and down the stairs. I’m going to have to cool myself with some of this #Samuel_Adams #cerveza.
I chose this #beer over my usual favorite #Dos_Equis and the #Pale_Moon that I’ve been wanting to try because I’ve heard this name forever and never tried it. -

Added this account to #Tusky on my phone. Since PFE's #JavaScript seems to be broken in #PaleMoon, I can still use the site. (This is a known hazard of #JavaScrippled sites) -

@musicman Odd. It seems to work in #Palemoon 28.5.2. https://nu.federati.net/notice/3002335
I now have #Firefox 67.0.4, so I'll try it from there. -

#TIL (quite by accident): #Palemoon still honors the old CTRL+Q close browser key combo. I meant to hit CTRL+W to close a tab instead. -

my GNU #IceCat v52.6.0 is fine... #Palemoon too -

@devurandom I've heard that the Nightly version is unaffected. But #Tor and #Waterfox are affected. No info on #IceCat or #Palemoon. -

@bob I agree. It appears that #Tor and #Waterfox are affected. I don't see anything about #Palemoon or #IceCat users being affected. -

From what I can see, #Waterfox _is_ affected (see their support Reddit), #Palemoon _is not_ affected. -

@ajroach42 #Palemoon is a fork of #Firefox. It is more distant than #Tor-browser, but still based on what was originally #Mozilla's code. -

@alpacaherder My main laptop (6GiB RAM) goes OOM if #Chromium is the only thing open and I have more than about 5 JS-heavy tabs open. On the other hand, I can have a combined total of 150 tabs in 4 windows with #Firefox and #Palemoon and it will run for day without issue. -

@sampo Oddly, I have two #Firefox windows and two #Palemoon windows open (totalling 153 tabs on my 6GiB of RAM laptop). However, Chromium can't even have 35 tabs without force-rebooting the entire machine. -

@bgcarlisle there are already a number of forks of #Firefox without the spyware; #ABrowser, #IceCat, #WaterFox, #PaleMoon, #Basilisk etc etc
