    Years ago, when I was working in Lincoln, #NE, the whole city would fill up (including hotels) with people wearing Cornhuskers red on a weekend when UNL had a big football game.

    It also filled when the College World Series was happening in Omaha, #Nebraska.

    Got some #NOAA / #NWS notifications about severe #t-storms in parts of #Kansas and #Nebraska late last night / early this morning. About two hours later, they sent red flag warnings (fire weather watches and warnings) for nearby and partially overlapping areas. It just seems weird that they’re warning about rain, hail, winds … and then a few hours later, some of the same areas are being warned about fire danger.

    Severe #t-storm warnings in SE #Nebraska. One storm is WNW of Fremont. The other is W of Linoln, the state capital. Both storms are heading SE.

    I did talk to #Daddy_A and Mike/Ami/Jade tonight and informed them that severe weather is heading their way. These were regularly scheduled calls, but I was able to talk about the weather (and about the Brooklyn subway shooting).

    Colby is also in that area, but I do not have a regularly scheduled call with him.

    #Daddy_A lived in #AZ for a year or two. When I told him how hot it is today, he immediately told me how glad he is to have left #SoCal and #Arizona to move to #NE ( #Nebraska gets both hot and humid, but not as hot as AZ or as humid as #Mississippi ).

    Looking at the states that had this law, I was surprised to find #Nebraska ( #NE ) and #Indiana ( #IN ). #Missouri ( #MO ) was not a surprise, because they had been a slave state.

      The one-drop rule is a social and legal principle of racial classification that was historically prominent in the United States in the 20th century. It asserted that any person with even one ancestor of sub-Saharan African ancestry ("one drop" of black blood) is considered black (Negro or colored in historical terms).
