The March 2023 #Patch_Tuesday updates cover 74 different bugs, including a couple that are being exploited in the wild. As always, any updates to #MSEdge try to steal http protocol, HTML and PDF file types from your preferred applications. There's also other annoying, irritating garbage slapped onto your toolbar. -

So #MSEdge now has a gigantic "Bing" icon and a slide-out sidebar full of unwanted junk. It appears that the way to get rid of it all is registry-twiddling. Messing with the registry is undesirable (something that #GNOME hasn't learned during their decades long fascination with whatever Microsoft and Apple were going to do next). -

Ugh! I really dislike the way that #MSEdge tries to force people through this introduction ... drops an icon on the desktop without asking, pins itself to the taskbar (again, without asking) and then pushes and nags to try to get the user to set it as their default browser. Everyone keeps telling me there’s no download needed for #Zoom, but #MSEdge needed a download in order to handle the meeting. (I did not join a previous Zoom meeting my family held in mid-May because it needed a plugin downloaded for #Firefox.) Today, my co-worker S refused to join because of the plugin download for #MSIE 11. In conversation from Shoyu permalink -

Not cool, #Microsoft. Pinning the garbage #MSEdge browser to my taskbar. In conversation from Shoyu permalink -

Is it just me, or does using #MS_Edge make everyone else wish you could remove every vestige of it from #Win10? In conversation from Shoyu permalink
