I'm hiring at least 4 application security engineers. You a decent #pentester, know your way around Ghidra or IDA, programmer who groks security stuff, or OS expert? Wanna break security software? Want your findings to actually get fixed? This could be your thing, DM me!
Fully remote-first, distributed team and company, solid comp and benefits
I have an awesome friend at Code for America, a non-profit based in SF (with some remote positions) that helps government better serve its people. They're working currently in safety net services, criminal justice reform, and easing the EITC participation gap.
They're also currently hiring for security engineers:
Are you a software engineer who cares deeply about CI/CD, code review, and development environments? Apply to work with the Release Engineering team (a part of our Engineering Productivity team) at the Wikimedia Foundation!
Invest in Open Infrastructure is interviewing for a Director. They are "an effort to enable durable, scalable, and long lasting open scientific and scholarly infrastructure to emerge, thrive, and deliver its benefits on a global scale": https://investinopen.org/jobs/director/ #jobs
Hey folks, our team is still hiring one more passionate #FreeSoftware developer that wants to help us make life better for people in the developing world.
Work remotely, or from our HQ in Washington DC.
Get in touch with me if you're interested, or apply directly:
Evan Prodromou (who is the grandfather of federated microblogging, I don't think you wouldn't be here without them.) is hiring someone to work on ActivityPub software.
"If you want a (paying full-time permanent) job (with real human money) building #ActivityPub server software please DM me"
@musicman @bcavello Yes, true. If someone is watching socnets for job openings, they're probably going to watch tags corresponding to their interests, such as #Java #Developer or #Perforce.
I'd expect that more generic tags, like #job, #jobs, #jobopening, #applynow would be overfilled with non-interesting job openings and various MLM "business offerings".
I feel like I could probably do this job, "Programmer Analyst," unless I overestimate my SQL prowess/potential. But they want a technical degree; it doesn't say "or equivalent experience" or anything like that.
Also, there's the creepy aspect of data mining students, which is what the job is.
The only thing I seem to be qualified for is a part time help desk position. I'd have to find out what the hours are, though; if it conflicts with my current 9-5, I couldn't afford to do it.
It also depends on a healthy #planet to feed us, and on #social#systems not based on #theft so that we don’t have to run just to stay in one place, while others fatten themselves at our expense.
