I'd love to see someone devote some energy to making it actually usable and competitive with more widely used FOSS kernels. -

#FSF approved #Hyperbola #GNU + #Linux distro to hard-fork #OpenBSD kernel for its next version.
Just wow. They could have just become a Lennart-ware free Linux distro. It seems like a lot of work to start over with their own fork of #BSD. They'd better have a lot of developer resources, or they'll go the way of #Hurd. -
Strypey (strypey@mastodon.nzoss.nz)'s status on Tuesday, 15-Jan-2019 03:20:41 UTC Strypey @FarhanYusufzai Imagine an alternative history where the #HURD was finished before Linus got his kernel working, and the OS continued to be called GNU. But for some reason everyone uses the name "AT&T" for the BSD OS. To try to give due credit to those who did the work to bring about a libre version of AT&T's UNIX, some people call it BSD/AT&T. Would it be a good use of my time to try to make them conform to the more common naming convention?
