    As this is right as temperatures are changing, I immediately bought matching pajamas for #GS3 #GS4 #GS5 so they'll be warm. No feet covers because two of the three are taller and thinner than most kids their ages.

    Video from #sonTwo: #GS3 holding a little pumpkin and saying "I wish you were here, Grandpa!" followed by #GS4 saying "I miss you, Grandpa!".

    His speech is growing nicely. For a while, I couldn't see any changes, but recently, he's having conversations.

    Today is pumpkin patch day. #GS3 (age 4.5) and #GS4 (age 2.5) are wearing identical outfits, have identical haircuts. #GS5 (age 1) has the same outfit, but longer hair.

    The older boys are trying choose a tiny pumpkin to put on the porch. My daughter in law usually picks a medium size pumpkin to turn into pie.

    This is a major event on the family calendar, but it seems early this year.

    Hair colors are the thing now. #GD-1 chose pink, #GD-2 chose purple, #A-1 chose blue. As far as I’m aware, #A-2 and #A-3 are leaving their hair in its natural color. As are #GS-3, #GS-4, #GS-5.

    My 2 year old grandson #GS4 is running faster now. He still wobbles from side to side and his lower leg goes out sideways to balance the wobbling, but he’s pretty focused when he runs now. Daughter-in-law sent slow motion video and he looks like he’s competing in a track meet.

    Great #videochat with #GS3, #GS4, and briefly #GS5. We talked about their books that I'm reading for them. Also about their outing yesterday ... the family went for a drive ... #sonTwo didn't say that they stopped anywhere, either. Usually, such trips end up with a stop at a city park if the weather is okay.

    #GS3 drew the family today: him, both of his brothers, mom and dad, grandpa, and one of the dogs. The other dogs and cats don't qualify, I guess.

    Even if the style didn't give it away, I would know who drew this because of which dog was chosen. #GS4 has a different favorite dog. In fact, he used to call all dogs by that dog's name.

    I missed three attempts by #sonTwo to videochat this evening. Likely, the grandsons had something to tell me.

    I also have something to tell the 2 year old #GS4. I bought the newest installment of his favorite book series ("I need a new butt") and will be sending it whenever the next shipment goes out.)

    Oh, and they sent a picture of my bedroom there. All the spare baby stuff is cleared out, so it looks like a regular bedroom.

    #GS3 recently started a Summer enrichment program that puts him with a group of 4-6 year old kids. He's still got a year before he starts school, but the social interaction should be beneficial.

    I had wondered how his 2 year old brother ( #GS4 ) would react to the 4 year old going somewhere fun without him, but he seems to be fine with it.

    My daughter-in-law sent me a Fathers' Day gift: blue handprints from #GS3 (his favorite color), red handprints from #GS4 (his favorite color), green handprints from #GS5 (at 8 months, he has not expressed a color preference).

    Also, the four year old has not enrolled in preschool, so he'll be participating in socialization events through the local parks and recreation district.

    During tonight’s #videochat, #GS3 told me more about Tropical Cyclone Mocha and especially about Tropical Storm Arlene. He knows that Arlene was near #FL, where his other grandparents live. He had not seen that Arlene broke apart, so he was concerned about them.

    #GS4 didn’t say a lot. He told me that some of his berries yesterday were “greenberries”, not blueberries.

    #GS5 looked grumpy. Then he quickly smiled twice at me, then returned to his grumpy look.

    I don’t have budget for it right now, but the kids need hats with big floppy brims, sunglasses, and sunscreen.

    #GS5 is crawling now, and pulling himself to standing position any time he gets near a sturdy object. This is good, because he's really heavy (about 90th percentile) for his age. His older brothers are at 10th percentile (4 year old #GS3) and 5th percentile (2 year old #GS4).

    Incidentally, the 2 year old just had a bunch of tests. They're looking for food allergies.

    Two of my brothers stopped by last weekend. Their visits were preplanned, but the timing was good, as both Mom and #lazyNephew were in car accidents within the past few days and they were able to check on Mom.

    Everyone is okay. They are both waiting for auto insurers to decide on auto repairs.

    I also learned that one of my brother's friends from high school had cataract surgery and is driving again.

    Both brothers had a laugh at video of #GS4's birthday (recently turned 2 years old) where he's offering to send me his cake through the tablet screen.

    #GS4 repeatedly surprises me. A while ago, before his 2nd birthday, I asked him and his older brother what color shirts they wanted. I wasn't really expecting the not-quite-two-year-old to know color names, but he was first to answer.

    "Red!"

    And then, to make sure I heard him, he repeated it. He got his red shirt.

    New video of #GS3 running with his kite. He runs and it flies while he runs, then when he reaches the end of the yard and stops, it comes down. He's having lots of fun with it just because he doesn't know it is supposed to go up high enough to stay up without him running.

    #GS4 also has a kite, but the grass is knee high for him (needs cutting, I know), and he's two years old and twenty-five pounds.
