For todays #FollowFriday I'm going to do something a bit different. We have a lot of new users, one of the biggest surges we have seen in a while. As such a lot of new users are looking for high quality, long-standing, accounts to follow. Similarly many of the new users need some help getting attention and making new friends.
As such I am going to do this #FF in a few parts. One for old users I have mentioned in previous posts, as well as some of the new users who have been making quality posts and been active for at least a week now. Hopefully this will be more helpful.
Also a section for some bots might be useful.
I will use a persons profile description here as I dont want to misrepresent anyone.

Lol. I guess it's different for me because I *wasn't* born too late and I remember #gamedev in the 80's and to be honest, the experience was horrific compared to the fantastic tools we have now!
Nice! ArmorPaint ( the FOSS substance painter contender in development by the #Armory3D team - armorpaint.org ) just added particle brushes to do effects based on particles such as rain soaked material, or dew beading on glass... 😍
Any idea of what kind of hardware (especially graphics card) this was presented on? I'm curious given how Juan was saying that you didn't really need to worry about how much geometry you use on modern graphics cards. O.O
I mean, the demo looks gorgeous. I'm just wondering about the kind of hardware it needs to run decently.
Once it's finalized, I'd love to see it included in Phoronix Test Suite...
When I first tried, 0.6 beta wasn't out yet. 0.5 required compiling projects through Android Studio to get an apk, and I just didn't want to be bothered learning all of that when apparently 0.6 is going to have a simpler way to just export an apk.
I tried the HTML export though and that worked fine for me.
Now 0.6 beta is out, I haven't heard about if the apk export is included or not and how to use it, if it is included...
Cell shading with volumetric lighting for non photo realistic rendering in Armory3D, the game engine specifically designed for #Blender . Note, this is version 0.2 of Armory, while 0.6 is just about to be released (beta vailable now).
Looks like transparency issue has been fixed since 0.6 beta. I get the same issue with v0.6 beta, but not with the latest git version.
To try it for yourself, you can update to the latest commit with just 1 click in the Blender User Preferences > Add Ons > Armory > "Update SDK" button. Just be aware that the GIT version is obviously unstable, and will also upgrade projects to that version when opened (although I think it doesn't touch the file unless you save)
Actually Armory does allow animating shader properties (at least any properties using values, RGB settings or images).
At the moment though it just needs to be done through logic (either nodes or scripting). Just give a node a name in blender, tick the "parameter" checkbox under "Armory material node" and you can manipulate it through logic nodes or scripting.... Like this one I just made.
Yeah, I understand. #Godot and #Armory3D are progressing rapidly, but both are still maturing though. In time I'm sure both will get something impressive launched using them, and then more people will be willing to try and you'll see more of a community and greater contributions (could this be #RivenTails for #GodotEngine?) We're still working our way there as a community, though...
Thanks! I used to work in #Gamedev quite a while back, so I know enough to keep the concept small and simple, and the timelines longer than anticipated. 🙄
I'm loving how quick and easy basic prototyping is in #Armory3D though, once you get past a couple of quirks (remember to attach node trees to an actual object, Blort! Remember!)
