The 12:00 Eastern Time update lists storm surge of up to 18 feet above normally dry ground. That is in addition to any tides and in addition to any fresh water flooding due to rainfall. #Hurricane #Ian is extremely dangerous for #FL. Probably even worse than #Fiona was for #PR.

Post Tropical Cyclone #Fiona continues to affect #Canada's Atlantic provinces, but #NOAA / #NHC won't track any more because it is post-tropical. I expect Environment Canada will continue watching it.

#NOAA / #NHC: Invest 98L expected to become a major hurricane 🌀 in the Caribbean or the Gulf of Mexico. #Hurricane #Fiona expected to graze #Bermuda. #TropStorm #Gaston expected to loop back and hit the Azores Islands. Invest 90L expected to develop quickly, head northward. #Invest 99L following behind 98L, with slow development if any.

We took a quick look at wurricanes this evening before #GS3 went to bed. The strengthening of #Hurricane #Fiona was somewhat unexpected, given that previous guidance held it to a tropical storm as far as #Bermuda.
