    @bea YES

    see #grid uses #docker to run jobs, the idea being that you can pair a bunch of devices to your public key and send them encrypted commands over #ssb. i'm excited because i don't have to change much of anything to support native graphical applications.

    the original idea was to make #web applications the standard for guis, but making them fit on an #rpi or #bbb is basically not going to happen.

    @alpacaherder @hobbsc I was in #JCMO in 2013-2014 and again in 2015-2016. During the former, there were two RS stores, one of which was in the Capital Mall. The mall had a few !rpi devices and project guides, but few !arduino products. The #Missouri Blvd store had several models and accessories of Arduino and duino-alikes, but zero #RasPi / #BBB type compute boards.

    In either store, the employees knew next to nothing about them. In fact, one employee recommended that I drive 30 miles to Columbia, where there was a store with an employee who knew those products. I felt like they were missing a golden opportunity while focusing on the hyper-competitive cellphone market.

    When I returned sixteen months later, the mall store was gone and the MO Blvd store just had a few high-priced full "learning kit" boxes for either type of product.
