Back in the day Tom Ray and I did a show called Music Manumit. Including Judd Madden (Music) and Isaac Graham, whose music I have featured here on previous days, we had 5 other Australians on the show in our 8-year run.

One of them wasn't a musician, but rather the leader of the CC Global Affiliate Network at the time, Jessica Coates If you don't know much about Creative Commons, you might be interested in hearing our interview with her from back in 2012: https://www.musicmanumit.com/2012/12/cc-b-day-121209-music-manumit-podcast.html?m=0

Why all this talk about #Australia? Well, the CC Community Music Awards is looking for a judge for Oceania for next year. Australia is by far the largest nation in Oceania, a geographic region that includes #Australasia, #Melanesia, #Micronesia and #Polynesia.

On Monday, I posted a Judd Madden album to showcase what #Australia has to offer in the way of music (I am not going to bother to check if the twitter bridge was working at that time).

    Today, I'll share Isaac Graham's http://138.197.106.55/music/Isaac_Graham/Empty_Vessels/ here.

I have no idea why the FMA is an IP address now. It's really sad where the Free Music Archive has gone. Tracks are still not able to uploaded.

Nonetheless, there is still a thriving Creative Commons music scene. There are podcasts like The Bugcast and CCHits.net. There are netlabels like blocSonic and Hypnotic Dirge Records. Many more listed at https://netlabelguide.com/

SoundCloud still allows CC music. There is ccMixter.org. My personal favorite place for looking for music these days (other than http://blocsonic.com, of course), is Bandcamp.

We don't have a plan for bringing the FMA back to its former glory, but we are doing our part at the CC Community Music Awards to keep #ccmusic alive and well.

We still need a volunteer judge for #Oceania, which includes Australia, #NewZealand, and the #PacificIslands. Would you be interested in helping out?

Ok, US Southwest is taken, so it's only #Oceania (mostly #Australia) left for CC CMA.

Most of your questions about being a judge should be answered at https://bdinls576.wordpress.com/2020/03/23/2022-cc-community-music-awards-regional-rules/ but if you have additional questions, please let me know!

We have 2 more regions for which we are trying to get judges for the 2022 addition of CC Community Music Awards. #Oceania (basically, #Australia) & US Southwest.

Below is a recent album from one of my favorites from Australia (later Southwest will come): https://juddmadden.bandcamp.com/album/joy-is-the-current

No changes from yesterday's post. I don't have the time to follow-up with everyone individually, sadly. Please feel free to translate this as many of the regions left are predominantly not English-speaking.

It's that time again. We are looking for regional judges for the Creative Commons Community Music Awards. Please let me know if you would be interested in taking a region.

The regions we have available are as follows (two regions are already taken):
    Mid-West - #ND, #SD, #NE, #KS, #MO, #IA, #MN, #WI, #IL, #IN, #MI, #OH
    Southwest - #OK, #TX, #NM, #AZ

    #Canada
#Mexico, Central America, and #Caribbean (including US territories)
    #Asia (minus Russia)
    #Oceania (including #Australia)
    #SouthAmerica
    #Africa

In the future, we would love to break the regions up more, but having smaller regions this year has proved unmanageable. How much of that is due to covid? Who knows.

    For additional info, please see
    https://bdinls576.wordpress.com/2020/03/23/2022-cc-community-music-awards-regional-rules/

I have been told in the past that once-a-day posts are fine but any more than that gets tiresome. I doubt I will post daily, but if I post about this too much, please let me know!

I would really appreciate shares to get the message out of this. Also, please feel free to translate. I would love to have native Spanish speakers in particular involved as South America is predominantly Spanish-speaking. I know Brazil is Portuguese and one of the smaller northeast countries is English-speaking, but we just need diversity in general and I think having native speakers of other languages is one way to do that.
