That looks like a very good set of resources, I still don't like #2,Git.
It is still my nemesis...
Maybe I should find some training at some point. -

"Mountain Track #2"
This one involves more ruts and puddles. Climbing out of the ruts with my heavy front end was pretty much impossible.

@strypey It could be different in other countries, but in the US, newspapers were already in serious decline before the WWW burst onto the scene. In major cities across the country, the #2 paper either closed or merged backend operations with their main competitor.
I believe it was the early 1980s when the Los Angeles Herald-Examiner closed, leaving the Los Angeles Times as the dominant and sole regional paper for Southern California. Meanwhile, local papers in many areas went under common ownership and consolidated production with neighboring areas' papers to survive.
I think the death knell in SoCal was when one or two major radio stations went all news & traffic and one of the major television stations had local news from 16:30 to 19:00 Monday through Friday. Why do you need to buy & read the paper to see stories you heard about the night before over broadcast media? -

I'm wrestling between two different methods of game development for two different adventure games, and I think the lessons learned so far are pretty valuable.
Game #1 is an attempt to produce something linearly. In other words, the game is completely "on rails" for the sake of making the game playable from start to finish. The intention is to blur those hard edges away in the future to make the game's world feel bigger.
Game #2 is focused more on developing bullshit areas, minigames, characters, and inventory items that may well never make it into the final game. By doing this, I can focus on tightening mechanics and experimenting with loads of different ideas while not feeling too concerned about the plot.
The second method is way more fun, so far. -

That actually happened at a place I worked. I was the shift manager on duty at the time, too.
My reaction was to shut down the playground. I was not about to ask my subordinates to do something I would not.
We were also slammed that whole weekend, so it was completely understandable that I "did not have the staff available" to clean it. And, yes, I felt bad for the person on the next shift that got assigned to clean it. -

Strictly it means your phisically attracted to little kids. So that means one of two things
1) You feel that way but recognize it is wrong, as such you do your best to correct those urges and behavior, dont act on them, and try to get rid of it as best you can.
2) you embrace it and try to rape little kids.
If as he suggests it is about pedophile advocacy it would suggest it is #2

@khird #1 is an issue regardless of tagging. If your a new user you have no followers, so you wont get many people who see what you post regardless. With that said, there is no reason to think you **need** tags to be seen. Many users would likely still view a feed that is inclusive of all posts and only **exclude** tags rather than use an exclusive feed and select **inclusive** tags. Ultimately, the power is with the user what they want to see. just as some users view an unfiltered federated fee now.
#2 Yes people will try. Any intelligently designed system will, however, prevent that. Stackoverflow uses the system I provided and because it is well designed prevents issue #2, not to mention prevents issue #1 with its designs as well.

lol :)
I see a few assumptions in your reply that I'd disagree with off the bat:
1) that learning to use both hands is double the effort.
2) That my intention in promoting kids learn to use both hands has to do with their ability to record information
3) That it takes more time at all, at least when taught from a young age.
Let me explain those points in more detail. To #1 and #3, I find learning to use each hand does not mean you double train on all tasks. Typically once you train your other hand on any fine motor task at all (like writing) then it translates to fine motor skills for other tasks, like drawing. In other words you dont have to learn to write x2, then learn to draw x2, then learn to type x2, etc If you are taught to use both hands on all tasks all the time (switching between them) then you will learn at about the same pace as someone using one hand, once you gain basic motor skills at all.
Now to point #2, well as I covered in the last blip, it isnt about ways to record data, so much as physical skills: hitting a baseball, knitting, climbing a tree, writing, drawing, painting, playing the piano.
The more you train both hands well the better you are at many other similar tasks. When you prefer one hand over the other in most tasks, however, then you wind up at a deficit in physical skill.
Since it is no extra time if done from an early age (and only a minimal amount when learned as an adult) then I'd say it isnt wasted time since the amount of time investment is minimal and the advantages it bestows significant.

@lain Found a nice MD deck for my hifi stereo, a Sony MDS-JE500, gonna go fetch it after work!
I initially preferred tape, but my cheapo walkman and the #2 tape mechanism on my tape deck (the play only one that I'd never use since I don't see myself copying tape to tape, but still) dying on me soured me on tape slightly. I still like the idea of it, but it's a bit too mechanical, which doesn't age too well.
On the other hand, seeing a cute fresh blank minidisc right out of its packaging sold me on the aesthetic of Minidiscs. -

@Rovine There are two different arguments being conflated here
1) People can choose their gender, on a spectrum between masculine and feminine, based on how they express themselves (dress, act, talk)
2) That genders do not exist on a spectrum and can be anything that you feel id "right"
I agree with #1, but not with #2.

Just because evil is winning is hardly a good excuse to let it win.

Speaker #2 a social media analysis of "whining" comments as a form of political participation, an alternative to street protest. He seems to be proposing the creation of feedback tools for companies, like video game platform companies.

Feeling #2: Making the loud rumble of the freight train go away and replace it with a thin whoosh sound, just by clicking a button on the side of my head.
