@cphuntington97 Your @question is a difficult one to answer. If earning lots of money is your main concern, become a top-500 corporation CEO. This, of course, then becomes a "how do I do that?" problem.
I'm not really sure someone else can help much. When I was taking college classes in C, C++, Perl, Java, PHP, et cetera, an uncle was telling me to skip all that and learn COBOL. He was making $100K+/year and turning down work that didn't meet his terms. Fifteen years later, he retired because foreign programmers would do the same work he did, without the price or the working conditions he demanded.
The best thing I can tell you is just start out in whatever direction you choose. When you're in motion, you encounter opportunities (even in other fields!) that you would never find if you were stationary.
