apk is a pretty good package manager and it sits at the heart of tomo's package management/dist system. it'll always be tucked away in the command line if you need it, but that isn't how applications are distributed.
tomo/grid apps are portable compressed filesystems (literally tar.xz) that are mounted under a writeable overlay inside of a secure sandbox. sounds complicated, but its really only 35 lines of bash.
this makes a lot of #p2p stuff a lot more straightforward.
