@frickhaditcoming @lobsters I assume they have said many contradictory things along the way. :-)
Like with Apple and DRM, while you are working on some feature or antifeature that you want in your product, it is always good for a company to claim that the thing they haven't delivered yet is a ridiculous thing to have in a product and they're definitely not working on it and in particular you shouldn't use some other company's product that has it.
Then when you release it, it immediately becomes the best thing since sliced bread and everyone should buy your new and improved product. (like for example a product containing the glorious advantage of stopping you from doing what you want)
