I might've discovered something while reading my #microeconomics textbook. I wrote up my initial stab at it for my academic blog, and I'll publish it sometime this week once I have time to add additional context for the reader who lacks the same textbook.

Brandon Hall (bthall@mastodon.social)'s status on Sunday, 17-Sep-2017 21:11:40 UTC Brandon Hall The first draft is here, for those interested: https://github.com/tenkabuto/academic-blog/blob/master/_posts/indifference-curves-central-tendency.md
I suggest that the theory of Indifference Curves is somewhat contradicted by the notion that consumers tend to prefer well-balanced baskets (combinations of goods), and I suggest that the theory of ICs might actually be OK but consumers may derive an amount of satisfaction that is hitherto unaccounted for, merely by way of having well-balanced baskets.

I'm just glad that you're trying to consider the implications of what you're studying. That in itself likely puts you miles ahead of most of your classmates.Brandon Hall likes this.
