TIL Norway and Denmark allow testimony in special cases with permission from the court.
After many years of debate, the new government in Sweden is now going to allow this in Sweden as well.

@Mans R I saw a morning sofa interview with the new Minister for Justice where they talked about it, but I don't know if the cabinet is going to propose this change or if they already have.
The way it works in Denmark is that the witness still gives testimony in the courtroom, but the defendant is in another room and only hears the audio, or the defendant doesn't even hear the audio but gets the testimony read to them afterwards.
