You know, we put SROs (school resource officers) on campus to protect against school shootings, not to be the schools' enforcement arm. I think we need to reconsider the presence of police officers assigned to our campuses.
It may be that on-campus officers are needed, but if so, we need strictly-enforced limits on the situations they handle and on their actions.
There are too many "police pepper-sprayed a five year old" stories, and this is at least the second "SRO bodyslams student" story I've seen.
