i'm not trying to prepare for a doomsday scenario tbh. i'm interested in developing tools for building offline-first network applications. roaming wireless networks just aren't that reliable. the problem is the "good enough [...] network" should not be a requirement for the basic operation of some p2p protocol. any protocol that relies on blockchain for some core behavior also adopts the network reliability requirements of a blockchain. i'm not trying to say that blockchains don't have utility, rather that they don't work outside of fixed backhaul networks in a wireless mesh.
