@stevenroose people often suggest #Diaspora as a replacement for FB. I can only presume they a) never used Diaspora, b) never used FB, or c) they're basing this on the stated goal of the Diaspora founders without even thinking about whether they got anywhere near achieving it. Nothing in the fediverse has bidirectional connections that I'm aware of, let alone the rest of what makes FB what it is.
