@Oneironott I know of at least one language that only has a neutral third-person pronoun. In #TeReoMaori, the first language of #Aotearoa (#NZ), "ia" means the same as any of the English words "she", "he", or "it". I like this, and I've been training myself for a while to say "they" or "them", unless and until it becomes clear that someone prefers "he" or "she".
