I don't claim to be a programmer at all, but the one thing I do still use that I picked up in the programming classes I took in college is this:
* Step 1: Can you solve this? If yes, solve it. If no, go to step 2.
* Step 2: Break the problem into smaller pieces. With each piece, proceed to step 1.GeniusMusing and Brandon Hall like this.
