Someone left a grill by my garbage cans and I asked my neighbor if he wanted it. He kept looking at me like I had to heads. Finally his wife intervened - "the GRILL" and he was like "oh, oh, I thought you were saying the GIRL" 😂
2743553http://activitystrea.ms/schema/1.0/post2019-02-10T19:25:08+00:002019-02-10T19:25:08+00:00http://activitystrea.ms/schema/1.0/personhttps://ajin.la/users/kaikaiLikes: #anime, #cities, #composing #music, #cycling, #fiction #literature, #manga, #tech, #trains, #writingkaicopyright respecterLikes: #anime, #cities, #composing #music, #cycling, #fiction #literature, #manga, #tech, #trains, #writingtag:nu.federati.net,2019-02-10:objectType=thread:nonce=bc34972a7b759785http://activitystrea.ms/schema/1.0/commenttag:nu.federati.net,2019-02-10:noticeId=2743531:objectType=commentNew comment by lnxw48a1@kai No condemnation from me. I just know that learning a language is even tougher if it doesn't interest you. In school, I found that I had an easier time with German (where I once lived) than with everyone's suggestion Spanish "because it is more useful in SoCal".2743531http://activitystrea.ms/schema/1.0/post2019-02-10T19:16:06+00:002019-02-10T19:16:06+00:00http://activitystrea.ms/schema/1.0/personhttps://nu.federati.net/user/2lnxw48a1Main account. I've been learning read and write some characters common to Chinese, Japanese, and Korean as a possible to path to studying one of those languages, and it's a huge project just to read a write a few hundred characters, let alone speak or understand in any context.

That's why I'm intrigued by someone wanting to learn a fictional language for fun. While there are no "first language" speakers, it is easier to learn a third, fourth, etc language once you have learned a second, and it is easier to learn a language that interests you than a "you should learn X" language.
.
But if someone plans to stop after the second, then something widely used in their extended circle of contacts is best.2743366http://activitystrea.ms/schema/1.0/post2019-02-10T17:43:17+00:002019-02-10T17:43:17+00:00http://activitystrea.ms/schema/1.0/personhttps://nu.federati.net/user/2lnxw48a1Main account.
